WELCOME!
My name is Pyeng Threadgill and I am a voice and movement teacher, professional vocalist/songwriter and voice over artist. My role as your mentor is to help you find your unique voice so you can sing freely and make your dream project with confidence and joy.

BECOME AN EMBODIED ARTIST & THRIVE!

If you are currently or aspiring to be a singer/songwriter, performing artist or just want to improve your voice to sing and speak with confidence, then you have probably noticed that there are a number of challenges that can come up. Here are some of the most common ones:

VOCAL CHALLENGE #1:
TECHNIQUE

In order to sing well, singing ought to first feel good, or comfortable, in your throat and body so you have the vocal stamina and facility to communicate fully with your audience. But it doesn’t stop there!

VOCAL CHALLENGE #2:
FEAR & SELF-DOUBT

Sometimes fear and self doubt can present equal, if not greater interference with your vocal freedom. In order to address performance anxiety you will learn how to practice paying attention to your breath and alignment, how to visualize an experience in a new way and how to use singing to move nervous energy through the body.

VOCAL CHALLENGE #3:
PLANNING & ACCOUNTABILITY

It is easy for days and weeks to go by without a clear plan. Just knowing that you want to make an EP for example is not specific enough. That is why it is crucial to not only identify your goals but develop a process of time management, emotional assessment and support in order to stay on course with your artistic goals.

If you’re here, you know that being a successful singer or artist requires you to master so much more than just your voice. And it’s not just about having a million likes on Instagram or being able to belt high notes…

Building a sustainable career as an artist requires a tricky blend of:

TECHNICAL SKILL
CONNECTED MOVEMENT
SELF-AWARENESS
AUTHENTIC EXPRESSION
COMMITMENT
COMMUNITY

As a Voice & Movement Teacher, it’s my role to help you bring all of these pieces together into a flexible structure that helps you to own your voice and creativity on and off stage.

1. VOICE

Embodied artists understand how to use basic voice anatomy and simple yet effective warm ups to turn their voice into their best instrument. More importantly, I’ll show you how to pay attention to how things feel so you can become better at assessing your voice and guiding your own development. This will help remove vocal tension, broaden your vocal range and increase your volume so you can sing healthily for any style of music.

2. MOVEMENT

It can be very easy to get stuck in one’s head when it comes to learning how to sing or write music. However, learning how to connect to your body as a whole is a vital part of being a singer/performer. It improves your stage presence, relatability, storytelling and authentic expression. Plus there is the added bonus of helping you to get a handle on stage jitters and performance anxiety.

3. CONFIDENCE

Finding your voice is about more than mastering scales and building a singing repertoire. Every artist has their own inner struggle and doubts to face, and we will tackle those together so that your performances/singing become more empowering and uplifting.

4. SCHEDULE

There are so many distractions and things to accomplish in a day, however vocal/movement progress comes through an accumulation of steady practice. In order to develop your voice we will look at how you can work steadily with awareness and enjoyment to create your own sacred practice schedule so singing freely can start to become second nature.

5. CREATIVE VISION

In addition to developing your voice as an instrument, there is the development of your artistic voice for speaking to an audience, singing your next live, recording an album/single or writing for your next album. To fine tune your creative vision we will identify your unique intention, set specific steps to follow to allow for ideal and aligned connections that will promote your vision’s growth.

6. ATTRACTION

With years of experience as a performer, vocalist and songwriter, I have determined that part of my unique skill set is using my creativity to help others get their music/art out in the world in more enticing and valuable ways. I bring a “producer” mind to help you with visibility so that others can appreciate the work you are creating or wanting to bring to the world.
